The Chicago Cubs defeated the Detroit Tigers in the 1908 World Series, a rematch for the championship from the previous year. The Cubs won in five games for giving them back to back World Series titles. They would go on to add another championship, and did so... 108 years later.
Luckily, we have the newspaper pages recounting every day of the that season, the World Series win, and every subsequent playoff and series after (mostly without the Cubbies), from Community History Archives provided by the libraries and newspaper publishers across the United States. Advantage Archives is proud to partner with them by hosting millions (and millions) of historical newspaper images in these online archives for free.
This mug will remind you that if you stay with it, all things are possible, and also that you have directly helped us support the mission of connecting the community with its past. This mug will be sure to strike up a conversation with history fans and baseball fans alike, and you can take that opportunity to encourage others to get involved as well.
