If you find yourself just lion around in your paw-jammas in the morning, a cup of coffee in this mug will bring you roaring back to life! This dandy-"Lion Coffee" mug features a newspaper ad with the distinctive Lion trademark, one of many that ran in the lion's share of the newspapers from the late 1800s to early 1900s.
The ads all featured an illustration of the majestic king of the jungle, a trademark they took great pride in. In 1864, when Lion Coffee was first introduced in Toledo, Ohio (not Mane as one might have thought), they saw an opportunity and pounced, revolutionizing the taste of coffee with careful roasting and blending of the best beans from around the world.
They took great pride in pioneering new standards of freshness. The company's lion mascot is now one of the oldest trademarks in American History.
We ain't lion when we say that all the proceeds of this mug go directly to supporting the efforts of libraries and other community organizations to unlock their local history and make it free to access by their community.
